Feb 13, 2008 Medco complaint by Joan Boram |

I have just spent two days trying to convince Medco that I exist and that I am a memer of their prescription service.
I had dealt with Medco for 10 years through ford, and I was very well satisfied, so it didn't even occur to me to go elsewhere when ford cast off its employees.
I sent my application to Medco in December, 2007, and received documents in return. I thought I was all set, but my meds didn't show up. I spent the entire morning Feb 11 talking with Medco personnel, all of whom gave me conflicting and misataken information.
Finally, someone told me that my membership had been "disenrolled" by Medicare! Medicare said they didn't kow anything about it, and gave me the phone number of yet another agency : the Quality Improvement Org.
At this point, I gave up. I must have talked to a dozen people, all of whom were pleasant, courteous and incompetant.
Yesterday,(12th) I checked my Visa statement for January, and Medco had collected membership dues for two months ($66.): all the time I really had no coverage!
Once again, to the phone, and I actually got a woman who was not only ccourteous and cheerful, she gave me a credit for $66. At least I hope so. In the meantime, I got my prescriptions filled at the local CVS. (Sorry this is so long)

I have been calling/e-mailing MEDCO every day for the last two weeks. My husbands RX was damaged in transit and returned before it came to our home. First they said that they would send the refill and work out the details of the lost one. Then they decided that they needed a new script. To hold him over until the new order was to come they said that we could get 7 pills for free. He had to have the Dr. write another script. Guess what? The 7 pills were not free and I could not get them by just paying my co-pay. I had to pay full price! Then they said that he had to have a whole new script faxed from the Dr. We were promised a delivery date 3 times. Today we had a message left on the answering machine that we would not be getting the script on the promised 3rd date. They told me that we could get another 7 days free, but we would have to get another script. Yeah right!
I don't know what to do. We are required by the insurance to get our scripts form MEDCO, but they are no way doing their job.
Two years ago I had the same problem with my script and had to have an EKG before a surgery because I had not had my blood
pressure meds.
Make sure that you count your pills when they come. Once I was shorted 35 pills, another time 10.
